About the original:
Well... eh. No. The theme gets the job done, but could have been a lot more interesting. Sadly enough, I think many Mega Man composers neglect the stage select theme because they don't think it's important. Well, it is! Listen to the first stage select song from Mega Man X7 if you want to know what I'm talking about, Horiyama-san.

Sequencing the MIDI:
The only difficult bit was the background saw waves. The rest was pretty much smooth sailing.

About the ending result:
It's very close to the original.
