Length: 2 minutes, 41 seconds
Difficulty: 5/10
General info:
This orchestral piece kicks in as you take on Sigma´s
final (very ugly) form.
About the original:
I still don´t know why I chose to sequence this,
seeing as it´s one of my least favourite themes in the X5 soundtrack.
The only thing that´s even remotely cool is the french horn fanfares in
the middle of the song, but still, they tend to drown in the rest of the corny
scary-movie-feeling. Also, it seems odd that Tanaka-san and Miyawaki-san can´t
handle orchestral percussion at all - they both rule when it comes to trance-ish
songs. Oh, well.
Motivation:
As with so many others before the time of the Request Form, this
song was a random pick. It seemed like an easy song to sequence, I was having
a headache and my friend´s computer only had a very basic music program
(which definitely couldn´t do pitchbends).
Sequencing the MIDI:
Since this song is orchestral, it proved a lot less difficult
to sequence than the other ones I´ve tried. Problems came along when I
attempted to get the brass section right - Studio4 (my program of choice) just
doesn´t like triplets, which made that section rather frustrating to sequence.
Also, it took me a while to figure out what the french horns were actually doing
during the "fanfare" part. I´m afraid I might´ve been
a bit creative with the choir chords as the song loops, but hey, it works.
About the ending result:
It turned out as good as it could.
